About Us

Eight seasons of discipline, pride and San Diego baseball.

Our Story

From a Gaslamp sandlot to Metro Stadium.

Gaslamp Nine started in 2017 with nine players, two borrowed bats and a borrowed diamond near the Gaslamp Quarter. Word travelled the way it does in baseball towns — one family telling another — and within three seasons the club fielded junior, teenage and senior sides.

Today more than fifty players wear the navy and red, backed by five thousand supporters who fill the Metro Stadium stands every Saturday night. What has not changed is the idea we started with: discipline first, talent second, and nobody standing alone on the field.

Head coach and founder Ray Delgado played college ball in Southern California and still runs junior fundamentals every Tuesday.

Testimonials

What Our Members Say

My son joined the junior program barely able to catch. Two seasons later he starts at shortstop and, more importantly, he runs to training with a smile. The coaches see every kid.

I came for the baseball and stayed for the people. Saturday nights at Metro Stadium with this crowd beat anything else in the city — and the senior squad plays the game the right way.

Learn More
How do I join the team?

You can join by filling out the registration form on our website or visiting our training facility during open sessions.

Do I need prior baseball experience?

No. Our junior program starts from zero, and every age group includes a fundamentals block so newcomers catch up fast.

What age groups do you train?

Juniors (6–12), teenagers (13–17) and seniors (18+). Each group trains separately with coaches specialised for that stage.

When and where are the training sessions held?

Weekday evenings and Saturday mornings at Metro Stadium and our Diamond Arena practice field. The full timetable is on the schedule page.

Can supporters join without playing?

Absolutely. Supporter memberships include priority tickets, club events and the end-of-season evening — no glove required.

Is there a membership fee?

Playing memberships are billed per season and include kit hire; supporter memberships start at $5 a month. Trial sessions are always free.
