Crafting a Winning Game Plan

Scout before you scheme

Every senior fixture starts on Tuesday with video. Tendencies, swing paths, bunt threats, steal jumps — the staff cuts a fifteen-minute package and the squad watches it together.

Sequence with intent

A game plan is a pitching sequence with a purpose. Establish the fastball early, expand the zone late, and never show a hitter the same look twice in a scoring situation. Our catchers call patterns, not pitches.

Plan the last three innings first

Games are won late, so we plan backwards: who closes, who matches up left-on-left, who pinch-runs. When the eighth arrives, nobody is guessing.

Adjust by the fourth

No plan survives contact with the opposing lineup. If the approach is not working by the fourth inning, the dugout changes it — that is the real skill, and it is practised, not improvised.

Put it into practice.
